Anna Bochkova

Anna Bochkova is a visual artist working across sculpture, drawing, ceramics, textiles, and installation. She holds a Master of Fine Arts with distinction from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and an MFA from the University of Fine Arts Hamburg.
Central to Bochkova’s practice is an investigation into how tenderness functions as a form of resistance in environments shaped by hardness. Her work addresses questions of utopia, togetherness, and future forms of living, creating spaces inhabited by fragile bodies and structures that navigate themes of displacement, transformation, and coexistence. Within these spatial constellations, tenderness serves as a resilient force and a way to remain connected, caring, and imaginative despite social, political, and emotional pressures.
Bochkova’s work has been exhibited internationally at institutions including Belvedere 21 and Kunsthaus Wien in Vienna, EIGEN+ART Lab in Berlin, Kunstverein Harburger Bahnhof in Hamburg, Spazio Serra in Milan, and the Austrian Cultural Forum Rome.
